We are two and a half thousand! 

Thank you comes as a fine cup of Cotery Tea... And a video from our Senior Game Designer.

Thank you all - now all backers will travel with Cotery Tea, that means you'll be able to heal quicker according to how many other players are nearby. It's about being that little bit stronger together... and more beautiful! Check out the 2.5 thousand plus field of Night Flowers below! But first, a $100,000 thank you...

What's more, together we made it to $100,000 dollars and that means it's time to get your Go skills prepared for some seriously chilled in-game Go'Bad... We've been hanging out in all the usual places and heard how you pledged up and shared the campaign to get us this far - THANK YOU! See how the Night Flowers have spread across the water...

Will you make us an island?

We were so super happy with all the gorgeous knotspell ideas, we thought it would be really cool to see what happens if we asked you to design some of the game world... So for this stretch goal we'll add a new island to the game if we receive 100 posted and tagged island designs - and it will be an island chosen from one of your designs.

Here's how...

To take part, sketch an island and write a little backstory, take a photo of it and/or upload it to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Tag us @MightandDelight and #BookofTravels and throw in a link to the campaign if you can (it all helps!). As soon as we get to 100 we'll commit to building an island using the winner's design. We'll let you know when the submissions close - entries after 100 will all be in the mix! And be sure to make your profile public if you'd like us to see it.

1,000 backers! You unlocked the Call of Umber Yu! + More Night Flowers!

Amazing, we're not yet 24 hours in and we've already been joined by 1,000 backers - thank you! It's great to have you! Together, your number unlocks the third earlybird and all earlybirds will be able to summon the fabulous Bird of Umber Yu. That's ALL THREE earlybirds unlocked and acheived in less than 24 hours!  

This is just the begining and we'll be sharing lots more about the game in our updates and stretch goals in these next days and beyond.

Travellers' Meadow has now been planted with 1,000 glowing Night Flowers and we will continue to plant one for each backer - it's really coming to life. 

The whole team here in the studio are super excited at having your support - in numbers but also in the words you have written here and on Discord and beyond. It's so great to hear you like what you've read about Book of Travels, we are really on the same page with this! It's so heart warming to hear, and means so much to us all.

Our first stretch goal revealed + some reward fixes for Cultists and Bandits!

Phew that was a fun 12 hours! Now that the first day is done, the team here is taking a look at what's working and what might be going a little bit sideways... we sure are learning :) But first, it’s time for our very first stretch goal!

Stretch Goal One - Help us make four new knotspells!

“The strands of rope writhed in his hands, sending a bitter heat through his wrists and along his arms. He shuddered, smiling. Something unusual must be trapped within it! He’d unravelled many a knotspell since he was a boy, but never felt heat like this. He wrestled the rope loose impatiently, marvelling at the luminous glow that grew between its tattered, muddy thread. They’ll never forgive me, he thought, but there’s no going back now.”

We promised you that this was going to be a campaign about asking you to get involved with the game, and for our first stretch goal we'll make four new magic knots for Braided Shore. Our target is 1,500 backers, which we are optomistic about! But we need your help not just in sharing to get those backers but to decide what spells they new knots will unleash! We will read any suggestions you make here, comments section of this update... let your imagination run wild!

And if you haven't heard of knot magic before, you can find out more in the lore that's in the Braided Shore section of the project page. We'll be posting more in the next couple of days!  Now for some... adjustments.

Secret Cultist status for all above that tier

We want to let you know that the exclusivity of the Secret Cult was no mistake! We didn't design the pledge tiers to ascend in a hierarchy, some are just a bit different (A Settler would own more maps, right?). The Secret Cultist was always going to be a bit controversial and we took that risk. But now that so many of you want to be Cultists, we're going to open the cult up to all backers pledging above that level. We can't change this in the rewards text, but we'll make it happen on delivery!

Bandit shipping issue - fixed! 

Some of you pointed out that there was a typo in the shipping cost - an extra zero appeared and made this memento reward a lot less appealing! We've created a new pledge with correct shipping, so for those who’d like to pledge for it, or change their original pledge from the old to the new one, please check it out!

We've had a great first couple of days and already over 1000 of you are backers now. Thank you and welcome! There's a lot more fun to come!
